Nano Banana Pro prompt guide
Nano Banana Pro makes photorealistic images and precise edits by description, with several images as references. Describe the picture, the style, and for an edit, what to change and what to keep.
What Nano Banana Pro takes
- Takes a prompt and up to 8 reference images.
- Aspect ratios: 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9.
- Settings: 1K; 2K.
- From 2 credits per image.
The order to write a prompt in
- What the picture shows: the subject, the setting and the composition.
- The style: photo, illustration or 3D; the light; the lens.
- For an edit: what to change and what must stay as it is.
- For several images: what to take from each, by their order.
Tips
- One change per edit is the easiest to control. Name what must stay: "keep the face and the pose".
- Refer to the images you add by their order: "the model from the first image wearing the jacket from the second image". Up to 8 images.
- For words in the picture, put them in quotes: a poster that says "SUMMER SALE". For long text, GPT Image 2 is the one to try.
- Pick the aspect ratio and the resolution in the settings rather than in the prompt.
Example prompts
A product photo of matte black wireless headphones on a white marble surface, soft window light from the left, shallow depth of field, clean commercial look.
Replace the background with a sunny Mediterranean terrace. Keep the person, the pose, the clothes and the light on the face unchanged.
The model from the first image wearing the sneakers from the second image, crossing a city street. Street-style photo, 35 mm lens, overcast light.
