API keys and the API balance
Keys are shown once; the API is paid from a separate dollar balance.
API keys start with rh_ and are shown only once, when you create them. A lost key cannot be recovered: delete it and make a new one.
The API is paid from its own balance in dollars, separate from credits. Every request takes an Idempotency-Key, so a retry is never charged twice, and failed jobs are free.
